School Preparations

I am looking forward to the last two orders of books yet to arrive. Each project and preparation increases the anticipation of starting school on Tuesday with my youngest three. I'll have a sixth grader, third grader, and preschooler this year. So different than the year when I had a 10th, 8th, 7th, 6th, 3rd, K, and baby. I'm thanking the Lord for a great charter school this year! :)

When opening my stored books in the pole barn, I discovered that they are more slightly damp than last year. Time to reorganize. This needed to be the year I went through them and put what I wanted to keep in plastic tubs. I spent two hours on the project yesterday, and that is in the plans for today. It has been touching to drift into the past, as I open school books with my older children's writings in them. Did we really go through all those books? The time seemed so long while in it, but now it seems like the time flew by. I see an end in the distance. Far distant - remember Emily is still preschool. :) But it is there all the same.

Assignment pages have been printed, memory sheets typed and printed, books separated into the correct boxes, fresh pencils purchased, notebooks readied, and the corners of various rooms have been organized and cleaned - it will be a long while before attention into those areas happens again. One last push in the pole barn and we will be officially ready for the first day of school. :)
